What a friendly restaurant! The staff were welcoming. The lunchtime menu was very local with lots of goats cheese on the choices on the fixed price menu both in the starters and desserts. As someone who hates goats cheese ( I eat most things, just not goats cheese!) it left me with little choice on what to choose, but my OH likes goats cheese so he was happy (!) However, the menu changes often and what we did have was tasty and well seasoned. OH had the lentil and goats cheese starter. I had melon and ham. For main course he had prawns on a skewer with rice and a tomato and squid sauce. I had steak tartare. Dessert there was only one choice without goats cheese so that meant I had the fruit cake and OH had a goats cheese fromage blanc with a cherry compote which he said was very pleasant. The lunchtime price is 15€ per person and that includes an orange juice or a glass of lemonade or a glass of wine. An extra glass of house red cost just 1€80. All staff wore masks and clients were expected to wear masks on entering and moving around inside the restaurant. Hand gel was available at the entrance to the restaurant. Everyone was socially distanced as the tables were spaced well. There is a terrace outside as well as tables inside. I'd come to this restaurant again as it is in our local village and the staff were so lovely. But I hope next time there is a little less goats cheese on the menu so I can try...

Le bar est original, somptueux et garni des meilleures liqueurs. On peut y écouter du jazz ou de la musique funk des années 60. Un soir j'y suis allé, je rentrais du travail assez tard et je n'avais pas à manger. J'ai demandé si je pouvais avoir un quelque chose et on m'a préparé un énorme sandwich avec des produits locaux pour une bouchée de pain. Je n'avais d'ailleurs jamais vu un pain d'aussi bonne qualité depuis très longtemps. Un festin sous cellophane. Quelques temps après, mon frigo est tombé en panne, et je devais garder de la viande au frais. J'y suis allé encore et on m'a dépanné en glace avec le sourire. Je ne suis pas un client régulier mais la personne qui m'a accueilli s'est souvenu de mon visage. Un jour enfin j'ai invité ma sœur et mon père à dîner chez eux. Ce dernier, sceptique, s'est amusé de la taille du steak qui allait lui être servi. Il n'a pas pu finir tellement la pièce de viande avait tenu ses promesses. Si un soir vous passez près de ce lieu convivial après la crise sanitaire, laissez vous tenter par un verre de Beefeater allongé de tonic ou un bon café en lisant un bouquin. It's a wonderful place to walk in to, the whole place exudes welcome and warmth, including the considerate and genuine staff. It's a treat to come here, one could easily spend €40 to €50 per person if you have a drink, and all courses, but it's well worth it....
