Café D'Orée — Restaurant in La Flèche

An absolute highlight for us after visiting the chateau was having lunch at Café D’ Orée! Nestled in a 300 year old building, this small cafe delivers on all aspects. We were warmly welcomed by the owners who served us one of the best lunches we’ve had since being in France. All prepared fresh, served warm and accompanied with a delicious salad, bread and homemade ice tea. An added bonus, if you have lunch at Café D’ Orée, you are given a ticket that discounts your entry charge into the neighboring chateau. This place is situated almost directly opposite the beautiful chateau and we visited by accident as our dog led us into the cafe at lunch time. What a great choice! The place is extremely stylish and tasteful inside and we sat in the charming little courtyard at the back. The food was excellent and the owners and the staff were absolutely fantastic. We noticed this cafe as we left the chateau in Le Lude and decided to call in for a drink and something to eat. We were greeted by the lovely owner and having spoken to her she showed us a delicious quiche that had just been cooked. We opted for that and it was served with a lovely fresh salad.
