La Cabane de la Patache — Restaurant in La Rochelle

In the most remote spot on the Île de Ré lies a small, traditional restaurant. It doesn't attract casual customers, but rather those who know what to expect from the cuisine and want to enjoy the tranquility by the water. In a relaxed atmosphere, guests can enjoy the evening and reflect on the day with friends.

Their gaze wanders to the anglers returning with their boats and mooring on the beach. Everything is easygoing and relaxed. La vie en France.

Pretty disappointed by the food. I didn’t finish the ceviche, the pieces of fish were too big and chewy and the passion fruit juice overpowering. The octopus was alright, just not a fan of the sauce which in my opinion was overpowering as well. Overall very expensive for the food quality, paying for the view I guess. They do seem to still serve seafood trays which you can enjoy on the beach right in front of the restaurant a which...

What a lovely place, with delicious food, incredibly friendly staff, great views and a little beach for the kids to play!

We arrived just before 2pm and took a seat. The maitre d' came and asked, in impeccable English, if we had a reservation. Sadly we didn't, but he kindly reshuffled bookings to accommodate us! Thank you for your hospitality!

We hope to return to Ile de Re, and will be back...
