Le Saint-Julien — Restaurant in Langon

Since we had seen the Brasserie Le Saint Julien in Toulenne on Google maps while planning our trip from Bordeaux to Buzet-sur-Baïse, we decided it would be the perfect place to call in for lunch; it was about half way through our journey, easy to see from the D1113 and has plenty of parking. We were not disappointed both the proprietors spoke very good English (which put us to shame as our French is very poor); they were also very friendly and helpful. We had a simple meal of sausage, pasta and salad which was beautifully prepared for us. Needless to say on our return to Bordeaux five days later we called into Le Saint Julien again this time we were greeted like old friends. What a wonderful, welcoming place. We had an amazing lunch here on a weekday. The value of the food is unmatched and this has been some of our favorite food in France. Definitely more simple home style cooking, but it was completely filled with locals (definitely off the touristy path). The beef and eggs were delicious and dessert was fantastic. However, what really stood out was the service. The daughter speaks amazing English and we were in a bit of trouble as we couldn’t find a car to take us to our next location. They spent quite a while trying to help us and then called a taxi for us and let us wait for more than an hour for it to arrive. They really went above and beyond....

The closing time is 4pm. We arrived at 2:20pm but the owner said that they could not give us any food and sent us to fast-food restaurants. They should either update the closing time or allow people to have food over 1h40min before closing time. Awful service in...
