Each room is actually located in its own isolated lodge dotted around the property, so there's no noise coming from any neighbours. Nice comfy bed, clean rooms and great bathroom. I believe they are all individually themed.||||We were in the "globe trotter". This was the lodge closest to the main building, and was also set-up for disabled access. The other lodges were situated down quite a steep slope, but the hotel has some electric vehicles which were used to ferry luggage up and down between the car park and the rooms.||||Note that the hotel is tucked away in the hills of the Ardèche - I don't want to say isolated, but you do have to drive along very small country roads to reach the next village (say a 10/15 minute drive to reach the main road). Don't be put off by this, it kinda adds to the charm and holiday feeling (and you get used to it). Regardless, this means that this really is the place to unwind and relax.||||Being up in the hills, the nights are very quiet so deep sleep should be guaranteed.||||We had dinner in the hotel restaurant twice - the menu du chef is extremely good value for money (25 Euros at time of writing), and includes coffee which I thought was a nice touch. The food is of a high quality, and the staff attentive without being overbearing.||||Breakfast is varied and not to be missed. I was amazed at the selection given the location of the hotel. Very friendly staff at breakfast.||||The outdoor pool is heated, and it's a nice location to laze around reading a book.||||The owner was happy to give us restaurant tips (see my other reviews for those in the area which I rated).||||A little tip for getting to the hotel: if you approach the hotel via Lablachère, don't take the first signed left turn for the hotel (the D207), but continue along the D4 to Planzolles (the town after - confusingly - Planzolles/Pomerol) and take the D250 - this road is shorter and much more forgiving if you meet a car coming in the other direction (i.e., there are more passing...

Read moreQuite disappointing for the price.
The hotel itself is set on a beautiful hillside with great views and a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and have some nice amenities. The hot-tubs on the room decks are a stand out feature. The pool area is also fantastic with a decent sized pool, good views, and a convenient pool side bar.
I've removed one star for the lack of small detail in the rooms:
The cups/mugs in the room are tiny. I'm not sure who enjoys their morning tea or coffee in a shot glass, because I don't.
There is no bin in the room which is incredibly strange and very annoying.
The table inside the room has 4 chairs, and our room could comfortably sleep 4 people. However, the outside table only had 2 chairs... Are the other two people supposed to stand?

I've removed another star for the restaurant. It looks great on first appearance. However, it was mediocre at best. The waiters clearly need more training and are a bit uninterested. They're also wearing France branded polo shirts which are a very weird choice for a "fancy" restaurant. The food itself was not good. Chewy/fatty meat which was either raw or cooked into a rubber flip-flop, and nearly everything was bland and unseasoned. For the price we paid, we were very disappointed. Best to bring your own food from the local village and have a picnic in your room (but bring a bin bag for...
