La guinguette du Vieux Moulin — Restaurant in Largentière

I had high expectations based on the Reviews and Fotos of the Tapas. we asked If we could sit on the terrace for eating, and the waitress made me feel as If i had broken some rule, as If the terrace was only for taking drinks, pointing out that she would have to dress a table. well, that was weird, and we had voted for the terrace because it has a real nice atmosphere and the music downstairs was a little loud for our liking and there was a lot of cigarette smoke. and as it turned out on most other tables on the terrace people also actually had meals with their drinks. so that was a weird start.

we Had veggie and fish Tapas plates, "plats Grandes". I saw the pictures of those (1 year old) and there was some similarity but not more and I was disappointed. the wakame , the salmon and the falafel on the fish tapa were good, but the rest average and altogether very little. it was more resembling the "small" version of the plates. the veggie one was very simple apart from the interesting mini muffins. am I over expecting, when I say that you can expect a full meal for a 18€ "big plate"? I had the impression that it was because of Sunday ( they close in preseason for Monday to Wednesday) and that was what was left. the beer was good and served cold. the male waiter (boss?) was friendly, but we were overall ...

"Please don't eat the salmon tartare"

I ate the salmon tartare and got a horrible bellyache. It already tasted a bit musty, but unfortunatly they didn't have a lot of options left from the menu. My girlfriend and I arrived at around 20:15 and couldn't sit on the terrasse anymore, which was a disappointment. We did really enjoy the Diabolo Grenadine. Super friendly staff, good Ardèchian cuisine and reasonable pricing. Even though rain was coming up, the staff immediately helped us to get us and our foods into a dry area.

Exceptional Tapas and Tartare! The cheese salad is a whole meal, would recommend sharing with another person.

If I'll ever be in the area, I'll definitely visit you...
