La Villa — Restaurant in Les Sables-d'Olonne

We have visited several times over the past two years, whilst on holiday in the area and have always been pleased with the food and service. Sadly our last visit was a great disappointment. Three of us were dining. The starters were great however 2 sole and 1steak for mains were not. The steak was inedible and when we finally got the attention of a member of staff, he agreed it did not look good. He also agreed the sole was overcooked to the point of being crunchy with very little taste. The steak was replaced, with new steak cutlery too, which helped a little. None of us finished our food. We ordered the same wine as we had earlier in the week, the label was different and it was not as nice. Super friendly staff, and not an expensive place at all. Location is beautiful, just off of the main beach in St Jean de Monts. Ambiance is informal and suited for kids. Plates were nicely made up and people were waiting in line to get in. However, after your initial order is taken, it can take some time before food is served. Some dishes were superb, others not so much. However, I would recommend eating here. I sure will, next time...

Poulet pas cuit, service très long, Un verre avéré renversé au comptoir, la serveuse prend une éponge et éponge le sol, et sans se laver les mains va service des apéros en salle. Le plat de mon mari est allé 2 fois en cuisine car il a commandé steack avec riz, on lui emmène une première fois steack purée, 2em fois steack avec purée et la 3eme fois steack riz, enfin. Lors de la commande de mon plat j'ai demandé si le poulet était une cuisse on me répond non c'est du blanc, donc je commande , le poulet arrive rouge rosé, donc pas cuit, et c'est le haut de cuisse, il retourne en cuisine une première fois ça revient un petit peu plus cuit, il retourne a nouveau en cuisine mais bon. Ensuite le patron arrive et nous demande si tout va bien, je lui fais part de tout ces problèmes, sa reponse, acceptez vous mes excuses? Lors de nos desserts servis, il nous restait une tranche de pain dans notre panière sur notre table, il l'a prend et la dépose sur la table derrière nous, sans savoir si nous avions toucher le pain ou non!
