Le Grand Four — Restaurant in Les Sables-d'Olonne

Happy we found this place when visiting Noirmoutier. We had a fantastic lunch thanks to the quality of the food and the friendly staff. They have a set menu with a couple of options. I'd definitely recommend the dishes with (shell) fish.

For kids they have a similar menu with smaller portions. Don't go here if they just want to have fries or crêpes. In that case there are other options nearby.

Service was really exceptional, but the food we’ve had is not the best. Had the apéro and they gave us 2 types of a small food. We took a menu carte, there are 2 types of appetizers, main course and dessert. We had entree with cooked oysters with cucumber sauce, taste was really weird. Langoustines (a very small lobster or crawfish we could say) taste was good. Dessert was in good presentation. Not really sure if we would like...

The food was pleasantly surprising, a combination of subtle flavours and colours. The professional and friendly waitress gave us short, passionate descriptions of what was in our plates, hence we felt like knowledgeable gourmets as we walked out.

We will come back for the chef's lobster menu which apparently is an unforgettable experience.
