le Richelieu / sushi kyo — Restaurant in Les Sables-d'Olonne

This is not an hotel - it's a few scruffy rooms above a Japanese Sushi restaurant. We arrived 25 minutes earlier than the check-in time and were basically told to push off and come back later. When we did return, they had the cheek to demand payment up front - before showing us our room. The room was dingy with no tea/coffee making facilities - and noisy! It was hard to get any sleep what with banging doors, squeaking bed springs from the adjacent room and loud voices from the restaurant ( using the term generously ) until late at night. Reception was not manned at any time that we saw - staff from the restaurant doubled up to cover it. (If there had been someone around to complain to when we walked out we would have asked for a refund). We were told by a local resident that the hotel had changed ownership recently which may be why some reviews on here are more sympathetic. Would we stay at Le Richelieu again? Not...

Stayed here on monday 23 june for 1 night only booked online & paid €65 with my card.When we arrived on my motorcycle we got the feeling the staff were looking down their noses at us.NOT BIKER FRIENDLY.Breakfast the next day was 1 croissant 2 bits of hard bread, jam or honey & tea each which we were charged €17.When we were leaving the hotel they took my card so i could get a receipt & charged me for the room again so i ended up paying €130 for the room plus €17 for terrible breakfast.I contacted RIP OFF RICHELIEU the next day when i realised what they had done they said to send my bank details & they would pay back the...
