Restaurant Le Fil Rouge — Restaurant in Les Sables-d'Olonne

Mixed feelings ! Some dishes were nice : the beef tagliata, the kraken octopus starter, the Bouchon dark chocolate fondant cake. But the Pho-type fish soup was too dull (no ginger or Thai spices despite being written on the menu) and served in a cheesy thin metal bowl (24 euros) or the “Couteaux (razor clams) with anchovy butter” were small and served with a garlic parsley butter with no anchovy at all! The Lemon pie was a nice lemon custard with drops of crushed biscuit and tiny tasteless meringues (12 euros) . Far from a dessert worth it. They were ok to eat but pretty pricey, and personally I don’t like when a chef does not use the ingredients mentioned to describe the dish on the menu, or use way too little to be noticed or meaningful. Especially at a higher-side price. I feel cheated. So please adjust your descriptions or use the ingredients written on the menu! Cocktails were very good but expensive too.

We absolutely loved this restaurant and enjoyed it so much that we booked a table for our mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law the very next day. We have visited this lovely restaurant because other restaurants were closed or fully booked. We felt lucky to discover this hidden gem just outside the city center. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was great. Merci beaucoup team Le Fil Rouge!
