14 ( Inc 6 children) of us went here for our final meal of our lovely week in les Sables. We booked easily on line for 7.00pm. lots of waiting staff around, but it seemed only one of whom could actually take orders, so we waited ages to get orders in, the restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived. Food arrived 1 hour 1/4 after our arrival.. Car parking is available outside, we discovered after we had arrived. Some of the the fresh seafood was good including lobster and oysters, octopus a bit slimy, so not so good. The childrens menu was a just disappointing chicken with potatoes. The chicken was ok but the potatoes, appeared to have been cooked well in advance, and some were not edible due to overcooking. No frites for children Why not??? So easy to do. The wine list was extensive and expensive, we had two bottles of Rosé at 28Euro each which I believe was the cheapest wine on the list , bearing in mind this is France not London I felt it was over priced, ok it did have to travel from Provence!! The serving and waiting staff were friendly and helpful, great sea views too. I understood from staff that the restaurant had changed hands recently. Our bill was a few Euros off Euro 500 which we felt...
Read moreOverall a nice experience in what I would call the Fisherman house. That's in fact where this restaurant is based, at the bottom of what I guess it was used to be the stocking point, in a renovated and nicely decorated hall with a view on the coastline that was very suggestive with the windy and the crispy waves.
Menu wise, the selection is not huge, in fact it is pretty much a sort of fixed menu style, with a selection you can count on the top of your fingertips. But everything we ate was good and different from the usual. My almost never ending mussels with lobster sauce needed some help to reach the end of the pot. The oysters, couldn't be fresher than they were. The only negative was probably the cuttlefish portion, which in comparison to the price was limited in quantity. The desserts were nice too.
This is a fixed rounds restaurant, with either a 19 hours entrance or a 21 one. If you want to eat here, don't forget to book your table, or unlikely you...
