Hotel Bar Restaurant D'Hourtin — Restaurant in Lesparre-Médoc

There are several rooms above this bar/restaurant near the church in the centre of Hourtin, right opposite Tourist Information. They are clean and air-conditioned but dated and ours only had natural light through a window too high to see through. However, the plumbing all worked in the en-suite bathroom (were those tiles from the 70s or even earlier?) and it had a full sized bath. Wi-fi is free of charge and the half-board rate of €89 for a double room is excellent value. Staff were friendly and welcoming, allowing us to store our bikes in a room off the breakfast room, together with those of several people cycling the Camino...

Service rapide même sans réservation. Nous sommes passés sur le chemin retour de Soulac et nous avons été très bien reçus ma femme, mes deux filles et moi. Tout le monde était souriant, compréhensifs lorsque ma petite a renversé sa grenadine en changeant la nappe et en remplaçant la boisson. Quant au principal, à savoir les plats: notre bavette était accompagnée de frites savoureuses et surtout servie déjà tranchée avec une cuisson parfaitement respectée. Lorsqu'enfin j'ai demandé de partager des profiteroles avec ma femme, aucun problème. Je n'ai pas l'impression que le profit soit le véritable souci de cet hôtel-restaurant mais, et aussi sirupeux que cela puisse sonner, plutôt la satisfaction du client dans une simplicité et une bonne humeur tellement rares de nos jours que j'ai décidé d'écrire ce petit avis, chose qui ne m'était pas arrivée depuis bien longtemps.
