Have been camping here for a week, as we do every summer, with 50 or so other brits. The behaviour of the bar staff has easily lost sunrise €5000 in business from said group. They treat campers with utter disdain, often refusing to serve them drinks unless they first seat themselves. Once seated, service with rarely take less than half an hour, even if you are simply wishing to order two beers. Furthermore, various members of staff, including the man who appears to be running the show, palpably dislike foreigners. Sunrise will obviously deny this, yet the same issue as demonstrated in previous reviews is clearly reoccurring. We had one instance in which the moody man running the crepe bar, ten minutes before it was scheduled to close, asked the remaining customers if they were French and once learning that they were English shook his head and closed up. The staff will also arbitrarily make up rules when it suits them, on some nights they do sell mojitos and allow alcohol to be consumed without being seated and on other nights it has never been their policy; information always provided by the same person. In contrast, before lockdown, drinks were fairly priced, as they certainly are not now, campers were treated well and the staff were friendly- making its recent decline all the more disappointing. Not only does it seem the consensus on google that sunrise has lost all of its appeal, it is also the general consensus amongst people camping here. Of course there are a couple of nice members of staff at sunrise but they nevertheless remain few and far between. Every other member of staff needs re-training and most likely a drastic career change; working in industries as far away from people as can possibly be imagined. The current model at Sunrise is haemorrhaging potential profits and alienating its main clientele;...
Read moreEdit: This wasn't a matter of managing workload for staff available, as we were told we could 'sit at the high table at the back'. We couldn't do this, as one of us was heavily pregnant and needed a proper chair to sit on. Seems to me letting us sit at a normal table for half an hour to order a drink each would have been a better use of resources, and given the place a better atmosphere. It kind of felt a bit post apocalyptic with all the tables empty.
I did go back to the bar to tell them the wine was undrinkable and I was told 'it's fine'
Same as pretty much everyone says - we came here for dinner but were told there were no tables as they were all reserved. As such, we just got a drink each and sat on the steps. In the hour we were there, no one sat at the tables, there were like 90% of them free. To top it off, the wine was awful - undrinkable. We left quite sad that such a stunning location can be so...
Read moreYou arrive at the desk. You have to wait there to receive a seat. They look at you and dont help. After 10 minutes I have to go to a waiter myself to ask if we can eat there. When we receive a table we were waiting a very long time before the waiter came. When we ordered something she turned with her eyes. She clearly didnt want to work. We had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks. Mine had a fly in it and my husbands beer was already warm. Then two minutes later our food was already there and it was cold... It was really disgusting to... They were not friendly at all... What a disapointment. I never saw such a beautifull location with such bad employees and bad food and drinks! We never will come back here again! The camping is really good but the bar at the beach is such a...
