Auberge de Veyrac — Restaurant in Limoges

Very very disapointed. I live locally and often wanted to dine here. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty it took the waitress 35 minutes to even offer us a drink. I was on the verge of walking out when she finally came. We both ordered Limousin steak which is generally lovely meat. The meat served was overcooked and dry, it resembled old parchment. We dropped in without booking for a Friday lunch, luckily we arrived early and there were places available but our table was near the (spotlessly clean) toilets.

We both had the menu du jour, my salad starter was much better than my husband's pate starter. We paid the extra so I could have the steak and chips which were delicious. My husband enjoyed his fish but not the rice it was served with. He felt more sauce would have helped. This place is always busy but although it was fine I won't be in a rush...

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel in Oradour -Sur- Glane. It was absolutely fantastic, it was full nearly every night with local people. We were advised to book, so glad we did as they had to turn people away. So we booked the next night also. The service was excellent & staff friendly plus helpful. The food excellent at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend, but book to avoid...
