Brasserie Le Central — Restaurant in Limoux

Update: Years later, we went back and decided to get something to eat. It took about five minutes to get a table. There were plenty of seats available.

The waitress obviously had other things on her agenda, and there weren't even 15 guests. Once we were seated, it took another ten minutes, during which the waitress (an Englishwoman) worked through everything else on her list in sequence, adding a course without service each time.

She could have taken the other tables' orders or cleared the dishes before returning to the kitchen. But she didn't. This led to an ever-increasing delay in her processes and only made her more stressed. A vicious circle that revealed very little experience in the restaurant industry.

Well, eventually we ordered and got our food. It was a bit more expensive than elsewhere at lunchtime, but it was really delicious. Luckily, you can pay at the counter in France, so we were spared a bit of a wait.

Unfortunately if you just want a drink you get the cat table inside next to the toilet. That's really unfortunate and...

Booked a table for 8 people for lunch to coincide with Train Rouge. Poor reception on arrival. Pointed towards the table reserved for us. After 20mins surly waitress arrived to take our drinks/food order. Smooth enough as order for drinks was not difficult. Said she would arrive with carte shortly. After short wait drinks were served and 1 bottle of water (for 8 people) placed on table. Carte arrived and was advised that 1 dish was not available. No children's menu available 😶 food order placed, very long wait for food. Bread basket (3 small pieces of bread) was picked up from a vacant table by the waitress and placed on our table. We were unfortunate to be the family that got forgotten by the waitress. It took quite a bit of time for our orders to be taken but we hoped things would come fairly quickly after that. But no, after 35 minutes still nothing had come out. We asked the waitress and she said oh so sorry I totally forgot about you. So then the starters which were just in a fridge inside the restaurant and had already been prepared came out (nothing to write home about) and then the main meal about 15 minutes later.
