Forgotten medival magic spot alive with history from the Roman period to right now! This place is epic and deserves more love and abundance. The Abbey has amazing examples of fine medival architecture to rival much posher and bigger cathedrals, it's in the middle of nowhere which makes it very mystical, and on top of that there is a house in the old square where Nostradamus lived! Yet so many buildings stand empty and are falling down, crazy. This place is a gem, it's had 6 independent water sources to, one source is said to be good for healing digestive disorders, and for this reason the great Legendary king Charlemagne came to drink and bath here. Splendid setting in a walled garden, very reminiscent of the Cotswold Hills. What a shame therefore that the service should be so peculiar and the food so below par for France....One does not expect a first course of gazpaco soup (at least two eggcup fulls at 4.90 euros) to be served together with the hot main couse ( chicken goujons and oven chips..) Little customer service from unsmiling staff. Good wine and good salads but...

J’ai découvert cet établissement par hasard à l’occasion d’un week-end passé avec des amis, et ce fut une merveilleuse surprise ! Le cadre est tout simplement enchanteur : un jardin verdoyant parfaitement entretenu, des recoins fleuris, une ambiance paisible et authentique au pied de bâtisses en pierre qui donnent tout son charme au lieu.

Nous avons été conquis par l’accueil chaleureux et la cuisine savoureuse. Tout est préparé à la plancha sous un joli kiosque en bois, dans une ambiance détendue et conviviale. Le burger que j’ai dégusté était excellent, accompagné de frites croustillantes et d’une salade fraîche et bien assaisonnée. Le tout servi dans une vaisselle simple mais élégante, sur de jolies tables en fer forgé à l’ombre des arbres.

Un vrai moment hors du temps, idéal pour déconnecter et profiter pleinement d’un bon repas entre amis. Ce genre de lieu qu’on découvre par hasard… et qu’on n’oublie pas. Une adresse que je recommande vivement et où je reviendrai avec...
