Stopping at the bakery L’Ecopain was a real treat while visiting the delightful village of Saint Ouen Les Vignes. I called in to buy some bread but was pleased to find that they also had an outside terrace where customers could eat their bakery and patisserie purchases and order from a drinks menu. I asked for a flat white which I can honestly say was the best one I’ve had in France. My partner chose a refreshing strawberry milkshake which also was rated highly. Our drinks came with complimentary cookies and a carafe of water! I’ll certainly come back soon.

This little bakery was such an amazing find! Baguettes, croissants and chocolatines were all excellent. However, the blueberry tart and pistachio apricot tart were the best sweet treats we tasted in our two weeks in France. I am dreaming about them back home in Australia. The bakery is run by a lovely french/Kiwi couple and there's a really nice seating area outside. Highly recommend a detour from Amboise to come try their desserts.

Highly recommended! I live in the next village and buy all my bread, sandwiches, salads, cakes, croissants and other pastry delights from here. A bakery that uses traditional and organic methods. Speak English.Do call them in advance though if you want to order a large quantity of croissants etc., as there will be none for us locals! There is an outdoor eating area with parasols, if you wish to stop for lunch. Closed Wednesdays.
