Le Relais d'Azay — Restaurant in Loches

We arrived at just after 12 and the board stated that they were full. We asked if we were to come back in an hour would we be able to eat? The waitress looked around, spotted an empty table, pulled it across to the shade and offered us a seat! In future though we will reserve a table.

This place is excellent. There is only a set menu at €16. The starter is a buffet...... not just any buffet......an exceptional buffet...fresh.oysters/ prawns/melon, homemade salmon terraine. The salads included a tomato and mozzarella....among other things. A choice of 3 main courses, our choices were beautifully cooked and presented, with a lovely lemon tart to finish.

Although the place was packed we were never left long nor ignored. Their small terrace was well covered providing good shade on a hot day. The car park is small but there is further parking just up the road. Don't hesitate to go here if you are looking for beautiful food, well presented by people who care about what...

Lunch yesterday 03 Dec.. 3rd attempt to eat here this year nearly always full. Reserved this time.although was full again but asked us to arrive 1.15pm as should be able to fit us in although maybe in the bar. Very warm welcome on arrival, found us a place in the bar but as we waited a table became free in dining room and it was reset for us. Enjoyed lovely meal starting with their splendidly set out 'buffet'. Will be back...
