First of all the hotel and restaurant is in a beautiful part of France - well worth a visit. Overall price, room and food okay if you only need to use the place for a convenient one night stop over. ||When I booked I stated that we wish to arrive between 5pm and 6pm. It said that the owners prefer to communicate via email. We were a bit early so had a cold beer. The hotel has nobody in reception and we waited for the owners to arrive at 6.20 pm. I did try the phone number but couldn't get through. By this time for couples were waiting with us. As I communicated our arrival time I would have preferred to have been informed that the hotel doesn't open before 6pm. Rooms okay but no air conditioning. As June was hot we had the windows open and listened to clanking shutters and umbrellas as it was windy. Not ideal. And a shame as the views from our room were just lovely. We had agreed breakfast for 8.30am and we were still waiting for the owners to arrive and open up at 8.30am. We asked for the bill and left rather than waiting again. Food was okay, but courtyard has a drain cover and unpleasant odors kept drifting up. Despite being relaxed and on holiday the more than relaxed attitude did not appeal to me. I picked the hotel as the food write up seemed very promising. But as a whole a bit of a...
Read moreThe hotel is situated in the village square next to the church, originally the presbytery for the priest. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and shown to our room which overlooked the village and the surrounding hills.||The room was spacious with a double and two bunk beds. The colour scheme was somewhat garish but the bathroom was ultra modern and very well appointed. Our only complaint would be that the towels, although spotless, were somewhat threadbare.||There is a very pleasant courtyard in which to eat and our choice of the 27€ menu proved very successful, all the dishes being well presented and tasty, made from local produce. The house wine was also tasty and excellent value.||The breakfast was plentiful including home-made jams and again very reasonably priced.||A possible drawback is that parking is in the village square below the hotel, which is accessed by quite a long flight of stone steps.||For a short break in beautiful scenery, this hotel represents...
