The weather was not nice to eat outside so we were moved to a table in their very nice 'cave' which was full and had a good vibe. The menu looked interesting and had been suggested as appropriate for a good meal. Each dish was well described and the four of us selected different plates. We had an amuse bouche and a bottle of white wine (Pic poul de Pinet, I think). The first course arrived and all were beautifully presented but disappointed a little in taste, my goats cheese and pepper being a little heavy and too large. For the next course two of us had the sweet red peppers stuffed with slow cooked beef, my wife had the fish of the day (by far the best choice) and another had 'cornets' filled with slow cooked pork. My peppers looked like 3 Liberty Caps placed diagonally on a slate with a swirl of something and the mushrooms were just 4 dried slices - disappointing. The taste was too rich, without texture, almost sickly and did not settle well, they needed something like apricot to cut through the oiliness. The cornets we never did determine what they were, pastry or offal? Again these were to tasteless and oily. Deserts were rather spectacular in appearance but bland, mine read very well but was in reality a ball of chocolate ice cream in a runny chocolate custard, nice bowl though. In conclusion not a great experience, expensive and memorable for the length of time I had the discomfort of an ill balanced meal. Villeneuvette on the other hand is always...

Read moreWe had been here before. But in every way it seemed to be a little less, than the other times. No place next to the room to sit private outside, spartan bed, dinner not that delightful as we had in memory , breakfast rather basic.||As a very unpleasant suprise: a band playing almost next to our room. They started at about 19.00 to practise and thought they were marvelous! Well except for a breathtaking noise, they were nothing. Our complaining at the hoteldesk turned out to be a rather unpleasant conversation about the troubles with the organisers of this event and which in the most optimal way would end at eleven, but it sometimes it even became one o'clock.Lucky us, it ended at 23.15;-). Our suggestion, because we know they can : keep the quality as it was, and most of all, try to accept that guests may have questions or complaints about the...
