We rarely leave negative reviews, especially as owners of a review company, but tonight’s experience was disappointing enough to warrant one.
Our issues began with the first course: the flank steak burrata was severely undercooked and tough to chew. We politely asked our server, Sergei, for our mains — the duck and beef Wellington — to be cooked medium rare to medium, but both came out extremely overcooked and burnt.
While we understand there may have been a language barrier, the real issue was the server’s attitude. Sergei was curt and disengaged throughout the meal. He initially brought us a drinks menu without a food menu, making it difficult to order wine — not a huge issue, but it set the tone. Over the next two hours, his loud, constant pacing between the kitchen and patio in hard-soled shoes created a disruptive and uncomfortable atmosphere, unlike the other staff who moved quietly and professionally.
Given the many positive reviews, we don’t believe the food reflects the chef’s skill, but rather a chain reaction set off by inattentive and abrasive service. We had high hopes, but unfortunately, the experience...
Read moreWe just ate here tonight and had the best experience. Having been in France for about 2 weeks and experiencing many misses in terms of service and/or food in both Lyon and Paris, this was a refreshing change of pace. Service was timely, and every single thing we ordered (essentially the whole menu multiple times over) was incredibly delicious. Our server/part owner was also very personable and knowledgeable about vegan and gluten free options, and was able to explain the menu to us.
We were shocked to learn that this restaurant has been open for about 1 week?! Honestly, the food, drinks, and atmosphere were better than many Michelin Star restaurants we’ve been to in the states.
Highlights from the menu were the ceviche, the truffle pasta, and the pineapple dessert, although no matter what you try, you will not be disappointed.
So happy we got to experience this on our last night in Lyon, and we will definitely be back in the...
Read moreFrom the moment on we entered the beautiful art restaurant we felt like coming to friends; The interior of the restaurant is cosy and everyone was so warm to us. The menue was so special in selection that we wanted to order everything. We have chosen the caviar, the ceviche, the beef Wellington and the Freekeh. What hit us most was the ceviche, which was highly balanced, made with coconut and lime, something we have never tasted before. The frekeeh remembered me a bit of a risotto but much more special, it was prepared with Bear's Garlic Pesto, Peas and Green Apple, we loved it! And the beef Wellington - what should we say? It’s definitely one of the most delicious ones we have ever tasted! The whole evening was so nice that we directly came back next day for lunch! ;-) Many thanks to the friendly team for this great experience! We will come back! If you are in Lyon, visit the art restaurant, you...
