Moulin de Brandon — Restaurant in Mâcon

Thank you to our friends for recommending this wonderful local restaurant which is a great find. Sarah and Joeri are the perfect hosts in this charming building which also has an outside terrace. The restaurant is warm and welcoming , the menu has 3-4 choices for each course as they only use what they can source fresh and local on the day (my perfect menu). On Sunday evening 6 of us dined on shrimp bisque, shrimp cocktail and guinea fowl followed by calves liver, steak, tuna and salmon cooked to perfection. We were also served delicious little nibbles pre starters and then shared some delicious home made deserts. We started the evening with with Sarah's special ginger cocktail ( which I highly recommend) as an aperitif and enjoyed local red and white wines. Sarah and Joeri are friendly and attentive and do everything to ensure you have a wonderful evening with wonderful food. This was an amazing restaurant experience from start to finish. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting and the outside seating was very comfortable in a well thought out space. The hosting couple seem to limit the number of covers to ensure their guests feel special and have a high quality experience. The food and service are excellent quality and the I felt that there was a passion to ensure that we had a perfect time. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The hosts seem to speak any of the European languages fluently. There were lots of little extra touches that kept the serendipity flowing. Hier, par invitation, j’ai eu l’occasion de faire la connaissance de cet établissement atypique au milieu de la bourgogne luxuriante. Pas coutumier de laisser des avis, ce matin, je ne peux m’empêcher de le faire car il est pour moi aussi de notre devoir de mettre en lumière le travail de certaines personnes. Je ne suis, comme chacun, pas experts de la gastronomie, mais j’ai beaucoup côtoyé le monde de la restauration et je continue, ce qui me donne un sentiment de légitimité pour donner un avis avec beaucoup d’humilité et de bienveillance.

Le moulin c est un endroit intimiste, gorgé d’histoires et de vies. Dans cet endroit un couple flamand qui ont choisi de vivre d’une passion commune au cœur de notre pays, quelle chance pour nous !!!!!

Une cuisine généreuse et pertinente, des assiettes travaillées et minitieuses. Bref je pourrais écrire milles lignes et cela ne serait transcrire l’émotion que j’ai personnellement ressenti lors de ce repas.

D’ailleurs ce n’est pour moi pas un restaurant, mais plutôt « l’expérience moulin de Brandon ». Je suis arrivé client, et je pense être reparti avec des nouveaux amis. Il y a dans cette cuisine quelque chose qui ne se trouve malheureusement que très rarement, du cœur. Allez y, allez vous abandonner quelques heures sans prétentions. Oui c est un budget de 40€ par tête hors vins, mais encore une fois, n’y allez pas simplement pour vous alimenter, mais bien pour vous nourrir l’âme...
