Mama's Beach House — Restaurant in Mahina

What a nice find! Great food and a fantastic location. Parking next to the restaurant can be tough but there is plenty further afield if you look. We got lucky by arriving early for lunch one Saturday and found a parking spot and a good table straight away. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor tables only some of which is covered but will move you inside if it rains.

Mama’s seems very popular with the local French population and their kids, as well as tourists and local Tahitians from teens to pensioners. We found the service to be charming, very welcoming and attentive - certainly by island standards. We weren’t shy about waving someone down though when we needed something.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We shared a plate of Tuna sushi prepared in 3 different ways which was just right considering a late breakfast, and a large creme brûlée, washed down with draft beer.

Point Venus is very popular with surfers and kite boarders and a great place to visit regardless. Many seemed to be taking a lunch or beer break from the nearby surf at Mams’s...

We had lunch after a swim at the beach on a Saturday around 1pm. Lovely friendly staff who were very welcoming. We both had the Cheese and Bacon Hamburgers with Fries which were delicious and finished with a dessert Crème Brûlée and Café liégeois. Highly recommend a visit. The atmosphere is lovely and indoor and outdoor seating, they even accommodated moving us to another table when a few rain drops fell. All round...

🇬🇧🇺🇸Wonderful restaurant with really cute and modern (yet Polynesian!) decor and a stunning ‘beer garden’ to eat in under the shade of the trees too. Food was absolutely gorgeous. One of the best tuna salads I’ve ever had (grilled fresh tuna of course!) and delicious homemade fish and chips with super tasty sauces. Great menu selection - something for everybody and everything was excellent value and on the super reasonable side for French Polynesia. Service was beyond excellent. Friendly, fast and above and beyond helpful. Would highly recommend planning this in as part of your trips to Pointe Venus.

🇵🇫🇫🇷 Merveilleux restaurant avec un décor vraiment mignon et moderne (mais polynésien!) Et un superbe «jardin à bière» pour manger à l'ombre des arbres aussi. La nourriture était absolument magnifique. L'une des meilleures salades de thon que j'ai jamais eues (thon frais grillé bien sûr!) Et de délicieux fish and chips faits maison avec des sauces super savoureuses. Grand choix de menus - quelque chose pour tout le monde et tout était d'un excellent rapport qualité-prix et du côté super raisonnable pour la Polynésie française. Le service était plus qu'excellent.
