L'Ivre De Vin — Restaurant in Mamers

We hadn’t booked and arrived at L’ivre de vin mid evening after just checking in to a local campsite. We didn’t hold out much hope of getting in as they were busy and we also had our Cocker Spaniel dog with us, but they couldn’t have been more welcoming! Soon we were tucked up on a cosy table with a bottle of local red and a bowl of water for the dog ( that we didn’t even have to ask for.) Needless to say, the fresh, home cooked food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant and intimate - and the staff so helpful. We honestly couldn’t have wished for a better place to spend an evening after our long journey back to the UK in the motor home. I’m sorry this review has taken me nearly two weeks to write but I’ve kept your card Stephane Grimaux because you really did make sure we felt so welcomed and had an evening to remember. ( By the way, some people arrived very late, just before we were leaving, and the kitchen was virtually closed and all cleaned up - but they were not turned away. The staff served them up a wonderful cheese board etc so they could still enjoy a late night supper. We thought that was very kind. ) Good Luck to you all - you...

Absolutely delicious food and exceptional wine selection, I literally almost cried when I tried their paired sparkly wine, followed by special menu recommended by Chef! We were visiting the village due to wedding and completely by chance popped in here for dinner and we didn’t want to leave! Chef has made the best shrimps ever with local red rice and courgette ☺️ as a starter we tried truffled pate and end up with pavlova 😜 The atmosphere is very cozy, perfect for a date or night with friends, the lady who serviced us was super nice and knew every details of the dishes. Place also just got a culinary price, so watch out this place...

Nous nous sommes rendus dans ce petit bar à vin / tapas ou nous avons été accueilli très chaleureusement par le patron de l'établissement. Nous avons pu goûter différents vins tous aussi bons les uns que les autres, (pour ceux qui ne s'y connaissent pas, le patron est toujours là pour vous conseiller et trouver LE vin qui vous correspondra le plus!) Nous avons également décidé de prendre une planche "La planche du sommelier fou" qui se compose de différentes charcuterie, fromages & friture type mozza panée etc... Nous étions 3 personnes & cela a largement suffit à nous combler ! Nous avons également pris un dessert "Panna Cotta Cerise".

Ce fut vraiment un excellent moment entre amis, dans un lieu chaleureux & agréable avec un patron & des employés souriants & agréables!
