O' Ventre sur Pâte - Pizzeria — Restaurant in Marseille

This little pizzeria punches well above its weight! We happened to be staying very close to it and treated ourselves on our last night. Our waitress advised us to order just one pizza between two, and to have ‘moitie moitie’ (half and half which is a Marseille thing according to our excellent Fado e-bike tour guide). She was right! Their pizzas are big and amongst the best we’ve had. So good in fact that if I were living in Marseille centre I’d take 20 minutes on the 83 bus to get there! (The bus stop is two minutes’ walk away). I’d recommend booking a table outside as it’s pretty hot inside in high summer with the pizza oven. Ask to be on the end table down the sea end of the row as smokers are still allowed outside restaurants in France and it’s best to be up-wind in case a ciggie victim sits down… They do a busy take-away trade and it would be a great alternative to eat yours on the world’s longest bench with a sunset view. I can’t even express how much I love this pizzeria and people, who are working there 😍 The lady (I assume the owner) and the man were sooo cheerful! They greet us every day they saw us with a smile and warm words! Their pizza is the tastiest I’ve ever tried! Really! We are not pizza people, but we ate 4 there, because it’s delicious! These people tears me apart when they present us a tiramisu cake and when the heard that next day we are leaving, they feel sad and through the emotions you saw how sunsets they are! I will never forget these people hospitality and care! Highly recommend there 4 formagie and one special pizza, you can find only there to try! You will be very satisfied with the taste ❤️ little tip: order pizza in advance before the sunset, take it out, seat on the bench and enjoy the sunset! This was one of the best experience ever!
