Caibotin Restaurant — Restaurant in Meaux

Surprising find, we had the holiday moment, coming up to 9pm in semi rural france with no restaurant booking and with 3 young children and a hungry husband I googled restaurants in the area. Caibotin looks tiny from the outside but has a spacious internal and external eating area with a small garden at the back. I had the special canard (duck) with salad and chips. It was delicious. The waitress was brilliant, catered for my son who is allergic to dairy (steak frites) and two other children who are very fussy with offers of fish and frites, off menu. Really glad we found this restaurant. Charming owners, a pretty terrace at the back, very clean, excellent food and very good value. It’s a little difficult to find due to a one way road and another that fizzles out into something that’s unsuitable for vehicles, but there’s ample parking outside and it’s much friendlier and more welcoming than some of the restaurants in the centre of Coulommiers. It will be our “go-to” choice now, especially following the closure of “Au Bec Fin” in Choissy-en-Brie. A...

J'ai adoré la cuisine aux petits "oignons" faite presque avec amour par un Chef qui mériterait bien sa petite étoile!! Tout est savoureux, "goutû" ,étudié pour faire frémir les papilles, original, frais , la carte change toute les semaine et en fonction des saisons, des arrivages et des fournisseurs locaux pour la plupart, Le tout géré par la Patronne en salle (qui a une mémoire d'éléphant et qui se souvient des clients quelques fois venus plusieurs semaines auparavant!!) qui ne chôme pas et qui garde toujours un sourire et une sorte de tendresse dans les yeux .
