La Table - Jean-Paul Tossens — Restaurant in Mirande

We had an incredible meal here as part of a Gastronomique weekend package at Le Monastere. The restaurant itself is elegant and the table settings wonderfully curated with artisanal pottery and cutlery (I want to find that wedge of a butter knife for my home!) The meal is an experience with course after course of creativity and taste. We were introduced to St Mont wine by our server, which we enjoyed and paired nicely with the meal, as well as a couple local Armagnacs, which we're looking forward to exploring even more and were a wonderful way to cap off a perfect meal. I can't compare it to the Bistro (as we didn't eat there on our far too short of a stay) but La Table is definitely worth the splurge. I can't wait to come back when next in southwest France. Aujourd'hui nous avons mangé : Plusieurs Amuses bouche savoureux sucré / salé (dont une exceptionnelle petite Barbapapa au foie gras) , 1 apéritif excellent (vin blanc ananas armagnac), un verre de vin blanc avec l'entrée (oeuf parfait avec asperge croquante à la crème), un verre de vin rouge avec le plat (croquant de cochon de lait parfaitement cuit, vrais petits pois super frais), en dessert (délicieux mariage de rhubarbe, glace, hibiscus et meringue) Des produits originaux travaillés avec soin

Nous avons été étonnés de ne pas voir de carte des plats ou des vins en arrivant : il n'y avait qu'un menu gourmand concocté par un vrai CHEF (faites lui confiance les yeux fermés pour vous régaler), excellent café Finalement c'est beaucoup mieux d'avoir la surprise que de devoir choisir
