However the owner couple (English/French) are unbelievably unsuited to working in hospitality. Thankfully the wife seems to now be away in the kitchen and unable to contribute to the unpleasant front of house, as she has done so well in the past, leaving the duty of unpleasantness to her English husband.
Over three years our family and friends have tried here, because it is so convenient to the swimming river, but each time we have been met by one of the two patrons latest rude or patronising jibe. Also they are equal-opportunity bags of nastiness, being rude to children and adults alike.
If you can't provide a hospitable environment, and you are trying to work in hospitality, I think there may be a flaw in your plans. Be nice, create a welcoming environment, leave a positive impression... surely that can't be too difficult unless you really are very unpleasant people? I am realising that this may indeed be...

Steer clear of this place. I visited with my family today for some drinks and wanted to order crepes for four people. However, we were informed that we couldn't just order crepes and had to place a food order first. We then tried to order a salad for one and two crepes for the kids, but that was also not permitted. When we told the staff member that we would finish our drinks and leave, he asked us to move from our table since we were only having drinks. We paid our bill and left. Bar dans lequel nous avions l'habitude de venir depuis 3-4 ans, pendant 2 semaines après s'être tous baignés dans le Viaur. À chaque fois, nous consommions beaucoup entre les glaces et les boissons. Les glaces "à l'italienne" ne sont finalement pas ce qu'elles pretendent être. Le prix et la qualité des boissons sont comme dans n'importe quel commerce. Le lieu est, évidemment très sympa, près de la rivière et la petite cascade qui forment un environnement très reposant et agréable.
Les glaces "à l'italienne" goût "vanille" ont quant à elles, plus un goût de parmesan que de vanille (même si ça reste mangeable). À voir en fonction des palais de chacun.
Il y a quelques jours (août 2024), nous avions consommé 3 boissons pour une dizaine de personnes. Le patron, très peu aimable sans pour autant être désagréable (jusqu'à ce jour là, je précise) nous dit que nous devons partir. Pour lui nous n'avons pas dû consommer assez pour pouvoir avoir le droit de s'installer sur sa terrasse. Remarque très déplacée quand on sait combien de fois nous sommes passés,...
