We found this hotel after an unsuccessful attempt to find overnight accommodation further west - it was August and we were nearing the end of our holiday. In fact it proved to be quite a discovery. The situation looks unpromising on the map, but the hotel is outside the town centre of Grisolles, set back from the roundabout, and a 5-minute walk takes you to the Canal Lateral de la Garonne, along which you can enjoy a pleasant stroll at the end of a hot day. The building is in 1960s style with a spacious, creeper-clad balcony on which meals are served in warm weather. We found the food delicious and the service excellent. The rooms haven't a huge amount of character, but they are clean and well-appointed, and many of them look on to the green space at the back and have a french window and their own table and chairs outside, so that you can ask to have breakfast out there if you wish. It is fairly plain fare, well sourced, cooked and presented - and good value to boot!||We occupied one of the spacious, ground-floor rooms in the rear annexe adjacent to the large car park which we found very convenient for all our luggage during an extended trip. However, despite the convenience of room 101, we were surprised that the bath had no grab rail and the flexible hose for the shower above had no wall fitting to secure it. There was no working lock on the bathroom door and there was even a 2m. high calorifirer behind a screen in the room itself! It is such a pity that these small but essential accessories were not better planned during the recent construction.||It was a very good value stay amde all the more enjoyable by the warm and attentive welcome. Yes, we would certainly stay again - even if there is no sign of the garrigue on this quite busy main road north...
