What a gorgeous place! L'Encas et l'Échoppe is tucked away behind a residential street in Gouy St Andre and has a surprising view across its patio to trees and fields.
It's both a beautifully-presented shop selling Katharine's finds from French brocantes, pottery and textiles as well as being a cafe. On offer are delicious healthy quiches, salads and indulgent cakes - all homemade of course. Inside the cafe is one large table seating about 10 people; outside are smaller tables. Vegetarians would be very happy here, so would those who like to eat more lightly.

It's beautifully private here, in the middle of nature - what you wouldn't expect. Birdsong and the sound of the wind. Plus a really hospitable hostess who speaks fluent English and French.
