Le Bar des Platanes — Restaurant in Nîmes

Typical local bar in the hidden traditional and authentic village of Vallabregues (1,900 inhabitants). A charming spot along the Rhône River, (where Hanibal might have passed through with his elephants probably) is hardly trying (despite lots of challenges like for most decadent and socially abonned villages in all France, thanks to peripheric supermarkets and corrupted politicians) to keep this forgotten Provencal village alive... Tough goal indeed, looking at what did happened in closed cities like Tarascon, Saint Remy, Beaucaire etc which nowadays remind better Northern African surroundings than Frédéric Mistral's Nobel prize (1905!)...
