Le Pt'it Mercier — Restaurant in Nîmes

I am not in the habit of posting negative reviews and this restaurant has so much potential because of the chef and I would encourage you to go to taste his food. However I have to say that the service and attitude of the service was most disappointing. We felt like we were in an Instagram post. It’s not St Trop people. It’s not Fashion Week in Paris. Excellently cooked and served dinner. We had the hen terrine with corn mousse, and the filet with aubergine. Both dishes were full of flavour, deep but not over powering. The draw backs for me were the large quantities served (less is more), and the absence of taste variations in a single dish. Nous avions découvert le restaurant via des avis prometteurs sur internet. Il y a du positif et du négatif. Le positif : service super souriant, pro et organisé, produits de qualité (nos viandes étaient excellentes). Le cadre est agréable à l’ombre d’un magnifique arbre. Ce que nous avons un peu moins aimé : Nous venions un dimanche, jour de barbecue, ce que nous ignorions. Du coup, en plat, il n’y avait que des viandes/un poisson au barbecue servis sur une planche avec une sauce (cajun ou bleu) dans un minuscule récipient, et des frites ou de la ratatouille (trop acide et trop peu assaisonnée à notre goût).
