L'O à la bouche. — Restaurant in Nantua

I was invited out to eat two nights in a row last week and it ended up being L’Ô á la Bouche both times. I usually have their fish and chips as it’s the best I have found in the area. As always, it was great. As I had been there the night before, I decided to forego the fish and chips and ordered the “menu” and chose the velouté de potiron as a starter (which was seriously good) followed by a chorizo crusted cabillaud (really tasty and perfectly cooked), and finished with a moelleux au chocolat which was good, but I will try something else next time. My friend had a mint pear dish which looked like a Disney dessert (bright green), but I had a bite and it was really good. THE WINE at 13 Euros was amazing! I was sad to see the old owners leave, but the new guy is friendly, professional, and a wine exporter, with his own label. Hurrah for good wine at an affordable price! The first night we had a lovely house red and the second night I was with a friend who doesn’t care for red, so we shared a bottle of the house white. I’m not usually a big fan of white, but my friend was really impressed with it and I enjoyed it as well. There was live music with a local guy (Michel) playing, which is always a pleasure as he plays a nice mix of Spanish, French, Country, Cajun, and Rock... (plus a bit of Occitan, the local dialect/language)... A RECOMMANDER : De passage dans cette magnifique région avec mes petits enfants, nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement dans ce restaurant pratique d’accès car situé en bordure de route avec un grand parking malgré tout sécurisé pour les enfants en raison d’une grande terrasse. Accueil familial et bienveillant car le personnel a adapté les menus pour nos petits enfants, même des bombons leur ont étés offert à notre départ !!! La cuisine y est traditionnelle, faite maison et les cuissons maitrisés. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Hygiène et propreté irréprochable. Vraiment à recommander et encore merci pour votre...

Nous avons déjeuné dans ce restaurant avec nos trois enfants : outre que la qualité de la nourriture n'était pas fameuse (pates trop cuites, poisson sec), le service et le lieu n'étaient pas adapté aux enfants (pas de formule enfant, bord de route). Par ailleurs, les tenancières ont laissé cours à des médisances, jugements et à des insultes à l'égard de nos enfants avant même que j'ai quitté les lieux, ce qui a contrasté grandement avec le ton faussement aimable employé lors de la réservation et au cours du repas.
