Cute restaurant serving confidently cooked elevated French classics. One of the best restaurants we’ve been to in France (and we’ve dined all over France), and certainly the best ‘local’ restaurant we’ve visited. Such a joy to find on our UK to Italy route. We just think the chips need an upgrade (thinner/crispier/hotter/saltier) then everything will be perfect. The desserts, well, you’ll just have to give them a try (some of the best we’ve had). 10/10 service! We will see you again.

Bien... Plats simple mais bien préparer Pour moi choucroute Royale... Très copieuse choucroute par elle même goûteuse mais pas acide ou avec goût trop prononcé... Ma femme coté de veau bien servie... Et ma femme a totalement fini son assiette... Alors qu'elle aime pas trop la viande.. donc belle performance. À part cela... Pour des plats ordinaire (mais bien préparer) je trouve tout de même un peu cher... Il semble que la carte change donc c est bien... Pour le service rien à redire... Sauf le patron qui peut être sympa... Mais parfois "piquant" ce qui ne peut pas être du goût de tout le monde... il a aussi des réflexions spéciales... Moi aussi je suis parfois piquant donc on s'est tenu en respect l un l'autre... On vient pour manger pas pour faire causette avec le patron..

Was probably one of the most expensive restaurants in Bellegarde when it opened. But for good reason. Now the others have upped their prices, there is no reason to eat anywhere else in Bellegarde. (Unless, of course you're after a Kebab, a pizza or a burger). Food is excellent, the service also. (Very French, but extremely efficient, and nothing at all false - you wan't get the american cheezy smile and the "have a nice day" BS). Simple, but very well executed menu, always very fresh. Don't expect complictaed gastronom, this is simple down to earth, damn good food. If you have never tried it the Steack Tartare is to die for. The acccompanying sauce made in front of you at the table and not minced beef, but hand cut filet steak.

Literally nothing to compare to it in Bellgarde for simplicity freshness...

We ordered the andouillette sausage and the black Angus Beef from Ireland. Unfortunately the meat was very chewy and we were unable to eat much of it at all, which the waitress explained was due to the cut of beef (the neck). We were asked how we'd like it cooked, medium rare so we had expected that it would be tender.
