Bistrot De La Placette — Restaurant in Narbonne

We arrived on a busy weekend as there was a big concert in town , the restaurant was pretty much fully booked but we were early so they squeezed us in. How lucky we were. A delicious meal and a carafe of local wine , all 4 of us were really impressed by the food and the service. I thanked the Chef who I presume is not french with perfect English and we went to a wonderful concert just up the road. We spent 2 weeks in Mirepeisset in September and ate here several times. It's really great, the menu changes weekly and you can order with complete confidence that it'll taste good and it'll have been made with real care and attention to detail. The service is very friendly, the wine is local and good, and I think it would be hard not to have a good evening here. This is the second time we have dined at this bistro, this time for dinner and last time for lunch.

We love the setting and atmosphere sitting outside by the street in this beautiful sleepy village.

The food is always superb. This time the Parfait de foie de poulet was world class and the creme brûlée was also perfectly done. Among the best I have had. Steak also perfectly cooked.

Chef John elevates everything to a level we would happily pay more for. Such an enjoyable meal and very well priced.
