Ch’ti Castel — Restaurant in Nice

I don’t usually write reviews but this time I felt I should as the other reviews posted here are out of date given that a new owner took over 6 weeks ago (we found this out when we visited 2 days ago).

Food: The menu is fairly basic including charcuterie plate, burger or assiette ch’ti (Northern France specialty) among a few other options. Basic is fine but this meant that cooked food options were limited to fried food served with chips (quite different to the food served previously as we saw on previous reviews - e.g fresh pasta, local dishes etc). We can’t comment on dessert options as the main was served very late (see service section below) so we had to skip it as the kids were too tired. The main dishes were well cooked but just a bit different than what we were hoping for.

Service: The waitress and the staff were v nice but we were surprised that we had to wait more than an hour for the food after ordering (particularly as the dishes included only fried food and chips, and there were only 4 other tables occupied). We were all surprised to note when the food finally arrived, that the server had an un light cigarette in his mouth while handing out the plates! I understand this was a quiet village restaurant but having worked in the food industry myself, I would advise against this as it leads the customer to wonder if the same hygiene standards are applied in the kitchen…

Atmosphere: We can’t fault the location, it is absolutely idyllic! I am not convinced I would eat dinner there again unless the menu was diversified to offer more options but would definitely recommend it for...

We arrived late in the afternoon, so only chocolate cake war available. It beats all the others just like that! So I ordered two at one, one with Caramel and one with Berries. Stephanie is with such unique personality!! The most lovely French ever during this travel. She offered my two boys with Toys from her children and let us play as long as we want after she closed the cafe. The church and Stephanie are both worth...

That was amazing. Their frites de patate was Number one in Alpes Maritimes. You know north style frites is great.They are using beef oil,so We can be addicted to this restaurant ! If they open their restaurant in Jean-médecin ,I never go another place anymore….
