La Table « à » Julie — Restaurant in Nice

Dinner was a immense pleasure in this restaurant. This is a gem we discovered during a weekend in Nice. We wanted to have local dishes. Our hotel is about 4 minutes away we didn't want to go very far by foot either. After some research we called for reservations. We had someone extremely courteous and friendly on the phone. We were greeted by lovely young lady who showed us to our table. We were shown the menu and explained the local dishes. We decided to share the platter which had a little of everything they offered for starters. Highly recommended, I loved everything on this platter especially the one with a local vegetables"blettes." For main dish we had the daube with raviolis which was excellent and the poche de veau which was delicious and never eaten anywhere else. Throughout our meal, the restaurant manager cum server was very attentive and checked with us if everything was good. I skipped dessert as I just couldn't tuck in any further my partner had a mascarpone with chestnut cream which wax delicious. We were offered limoncello on the house. Throughout dinner we had a great conversation with our host on the local dishes and about Nice. Highly recommended. I will definitely return if I visit Nice again. This is an awesome dining...

Asked multiple times for soup only for my wife (in addition to my other orders). She had only the soup yet the check came with the “formula” set manual. When asked, the explanation was that the serveuse didn’t understand English and refused to change the bill but offered a dessert to go instead. The price difference probably wasn’t that different, but don’t understand why it couldn’t be changed once the mistake was pointed out. The food tasted fine and the place was popular. Great meal- we loved all of our starters! The only thing we didn’t love was the main- a ravioli with squash and a hazelnut cream- it was a bit bland but was cooked well. The fried eggplant was amazing, as well as the panisse and chickpea salad. Service was slow but was fine as we weren’t in a hurry- it was just the chef and a gentleman working in there, the chef was very kind and came out to explain the menu.
