Roman has created a wonderful venue in Paillon that demonstrates the pride he takes in his restaurant. There are three choices each of entrees, plats and desserts depending on what is locally available. One can choose a three course meal for 36 euros or a two course meal ( entree and plat or plat and dessert) for 24 euros—- both fairly priced for the quality. My wife had the onion tart and the quail. I had the quail and a plum tarte—- all exceptional. The interior of the restaurant is tastefully and charmingly decorated. Service by Roman and his Mother is impeccable. Reservations are strongly suggested as seating is limited. Just go to this charming perched village. You...

We found this tiny X century village on a top of the mountain. But the restaurant itself is a gem! You should make your reservation ahead. Just a note: call the number listed in Google in the morning, since Romain is the only person who is running all the rabies during lunch hours. Everything from “ Hello” to “ Good buy” was an amazing experience. We were guests in Romain’s house. His choice of menu, his great way of cooking. What really impressed me, the way Romain explained every dish. You could feel how much love cooking in his kitchen. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much. BTW: the ride itself is amazing, but little crazy going on windings on and on....

The working hours are wrong, the telephone does not answer, no notices.

For the owner: we visited on 22 Dec at 1230, the working hours you indicated on Google Maps. The door and even the little gate were closed. Both of the phones indicated did not answer. No signs at all. The people who passed by said you were closed today. So you fool the customers even before the dinner is served. Restaurant business is not just about the food. The customer must reach the dining table first. You did not keep your...

We had a lovely experience in this very friendly place. When we eventually found the restaurant after going left up the steps not right (a sign would help!) however we got a really friendly welcome on arrival. Lunch had 3 courses with 3 choices in each. There were 3 of us and all ordered something different. The dishes were uncomplicated but very tasty, I loved the duck. The star of the show was the Gratin dauphinois!!! Worth the effort to make the journey into the hills.

Wow, what a meal! Romain has learned how to cook by his grandmother and by reading and experimenting. We had the thee course meal for 39 Euro with a wine to share. Excellent food, all the dishes. Both Romain and his mother were warm and welcoming (and fun, ask him about the picture of himself… 😁). Book ahead, as far as I could see he accepted just 10-12 guests for lunch (does not serve dinner). Worth a detour.
