We came both in June and then in October
The food is nice
But afraid the service is not good
This last time we waited 20 mins to be offered a drink and a menu, not even water as we sat there
It was then 40 mins to get our starter
They could see we had 2 young children and delays like this really don’t help with them
Then generally the whole meal was painfully slow
And often when we asked for help - we were told the other person will help us or they are very busy
Not sure if it was because we are British and this was Sunday and full of French families who they seemed to prioritise
We noticed they all got help and food well before us, even though we arrived before. And little things like they got petit fours with coffee. But nothing for us. Not even a goodbye on leaving
Such a shame as we liked the food and hoped a place for us as we have just moved to Thiviers. Plus to recommend to guests staying at our house
Sadly we can’t now given the service
To add given the restaurant’s reply. We arrived at 12:04. Please don’t say we arrived at 12:20. That was not true. This was before all other guests bar one table. We have a Google maps timeline to show this We also said as we arrived not to wait for our 2 extra guests who had got stuck waiting for petrol given the strikes. We said this both in English and French
Maybe you misunderstood. But then to ignore us for 20 mins and not offer us a menu or even just water was not good. We had to go and find someone to try and persuade them to help.
Then generally the service was extremely slow and difficult to persuade anyone to help us Then so unfriendly (to the verge of unpleasant at the end)
For a gastronomic meal it’s nice to have good service too Plus not to be told we arrived 20 mins late when we didn’t - that’s untrue . Before you reply to guests like this when you have a problem, nice to check first rather than insult them. Guess it just sadly...
Read moreVisited last night and had an outstanding meal. The restaurant is beautifully designed the interior is sleek modern and very well designed, the chairs are so comfortable, something restaurants often forget to prioritise. We started with two amazing amuse bouche then had entree of pork cheeks braised, never had it before really delicious and covered in a crispy exterior with a fantastic sauce too. My main course of halibut was quite the best fish meal I have ever had literally outstanding. My husband's and son's main courses were also very good. Desserts are sublime. In fact every little detail and tastes and textures in all of the courses is truly michelin star level never mind michelin guide standard. The young very smart waiters are led by an experienced maitre d all of whom are charming informative and helpful. We also had the wine flight, all superb wines and excellent value for money. The three course meal was 34 euros could not believe the quality of it at this price. Well done to the chef and his team. Very high standards in all areas achieved....
Read moreAnother delightful lunch by Chef Nicolas Cousinou. I had the revisited boneless pig trotter, then the beef fillet cooked to perfection, one of the best I have ever had and I finished with the lemon tart. We are so lucky to have such a great restaurant nearby. Still 5* A must !
A feast for the eyes and a culinary delight as usual. We had the foie gras and the sautéed veal, with the recommended white and red by the maître. Splendid atmosphere, impeccable service. Will of course go back!
This is always a delight. Nicolas Cousinou takes cuisine to new heights and never disappoints. I was impressed by the duck and pig trotters starter, an amazing combination. We will of...
