Nada más pasar la frontera del Portalet, bajando el puerto, se llega al embalse de Fabrègues, es aquí donde están las taquillas de la telecabina que lleva a la estación de esquí de Artouste, en la misma taquilla se sacan los tickets para la telecabina y el petit train de Artouste, a tener muy en cuenta el tiempo puede cambiar en minutos, ir preparados para eso, la duración en el tren es de más o menos una hora hasta el mismo lago de Artouste, en los meses de julio y agosto hay muchísima gente, pero aun así merece la pena porque la experiencia del viaje y las vistas son espectaculares, yo aconsejo ir a mediodía, nada más llegar arriba, está el mirador, con un bar donde poder tomar algo y esperar la llegada del trenecito, nosotros tomamos unas cervezas, ya que teníamos pensado...
