Le Relais 24 — Restaurant in Périgueux

Visited Relais 24 last week with friends who took me there. They have been before. I loved it. Friendly owner, small but varied menu. Food was delicious. Surroundings are very French and a little rustic. Settee in bar a little jaded but don't be deceived. The restaurant itself (a room off the bar) had a fire going and although only a few people in had a nice atmosphere. We've been here several times and always enjoyed it. This time though my steak was dreadful, full of gristle, so I could eat only a tiny part of it. It must have been obvious in the kitchen that it wasn't fit to cook, let alone serve. No refund, just a free brandy at the end. We will probably go back, because it's a nice place, and I like to think this was out of character, but I'll be very wary...
