We had come to the area to visit a Brocante market and, being a French long weekend, we found it hard to get a Sunday lunch reservation.||Lion d'Or was not really very close to the market, but we decided that the 30 minute drive was necessary just to get a meal.||We are pleased that we took the chance, as the food was very good... this is food quality and style that it is increasingly hard to find in France these days.||When we first started coming to France about 35 years ago there were about 200,000 bistro/brasseries ... now there are only about 30,000, so many of them closing down because of the high staff costs and the bureaucratic overheads that can cripple a small business.
