Restaurant Ô petit Gavroche — Restaurant in Périgueux

Unassuming little restaurant, blink and you may pass it as it's right on a main road. We've been wanting to try this small restaurant run by husband and wife for ages but please check opening times as they are unusual. Only 30 covers, we went on Saturday evening, it was full and only wife holding front of house, she could have done with a pair of roller skates. Food good, wine excellent, the only comment I would make is that the food was luke warm at best. However, I will give them the benefit of doubt because of staff shortage. This was a gem of a find for us. We were the first ones in at 19:30. We were welcomed at the the door by a very friendly young lady , who I later found out to be an owner with her boyfriend chef. The service was brilliant for us and the food was fantastic. However, we did notice that as the service went on and more people arrived, things slowed down a lot and people got unhappy.

So, arrive early or be prepared to wait a little but I promise it will be well worth it as the food is very well cooked and presented.

Nous étions 12, arrivés à midi 10, sommes repartis à 14h45. Seulement 2 serveuses qui étaient débordées. Les entrées (au nom alambiqué mais alléchantes) ressemblaient en fait à un simple amuse-bouche 🙄🫣 et que dire du filet de dorade microscopique sous lequel étaient cachés la valeur de 2 gousses de pois presque crus et quelques petits morceaux de carottes, avouez que pour 22€ le plat, y'a de quoi être mécontent d'une part, et d'autre part sortir de table avec la faim ! Parmis les desserts, les profiteroles sont les seules qui étaient généreuses en quantité, mais fuyez le "parfait..." affublé lui aussi d'un nom alambiqué car ce n'est finalement qu'une boule de glace avec quelques brisures de fruits secs! Rien à dire niveau gustatif mais globalement je reste très mécontent concernant le rapport prix/quantité car je suis réellement sorti de table avec la faim, c'est tout de même un comble quand on vient de débourser 52€! Et en étant loin de Paris ou d'une grande ville. Autre détail je me souviens que mon voisin qui avait pris en plat la cuisse de canard, n'avait quant à lui que la valeur d'une petite pomme de terre en guise accompagnement, avouez que cela fait vraiment...
