Restaurant Lou Marmitou — Restaurant in Périgueux

I have been using this restaurant for more than 10 years and never had a bad meal. Great basic local ingredients and although not Haute Cuisine it is always very edible. Best Value in the Dordogne, if not France. 5 courses with local wine and coffee for less than a reasonably Bootle of wine in most restaurants.

The staff are excellent although if they are busy the meal can be a little slow in coming, but...

Cannot rate the food as when I asked some precision the waiter just left and never came back - so could not taste it and just had 2 beers. The service is a disaster at the bar and on the terasse. We went today for the first time and had a wonderful meal. €13 for 5 courses including wine and coffee and a huge basket of bread! The service was very quick, the young waitress served 40+ people single handed. Excellent service, excellent food and I have reserved a table for the moules frites...
