Amazing old Chateau Monsegur, fortress walls remain but the chateau is a ruin. Steeped in medieval history of Cathars and knights. Park on D9 and hike the very steep route 170m elevation to the top (cost €5.50 adult). Worth the tough hike for the views and solitude (out of season). Ticket also includes the museum in the village. Worth a visit also, much history and archeological finds so give yourself time...
