L'Endroit — Restaurant in Pau

The servers were lovely, however, in their Spanish menu they forgot to add peach to one of their dishes. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to it, and since it arrived cooked as a small piece on the dish I didn't realize what it was (thought it was potato, since the dish did include it) and took a small bite. When I started having the allergic reaction, since I was alone and didn't want to make a big deal out of it, I brushed it off saying it was okay, that it only itched a bit. Since the french version of the menu did have the peach in it, the manager first said that I maybe misread it, but when I asked the Spanish menu again, I checked that it was in fact, not there. Venue fêter mon anniversaire dans ce restaurant plutôt bien noté, je ressors avec un goût amer.

Ma sœur, atteinte d’un trouble de l’oralité, a simplement demandé à adapter légèrement un plat — rien à ajouter, juste retirer certains éléments qu’elle ne peut pas manger pour des raisons médicales. Refus net. On nous a répondu que “la carte est comme ça”, que “c’est la politique de l’établissement”. Franchement, je ne vois pas de quelle politique il s’agit, à part celle de ne pas pouvoir s’adapter aux clients. Aucune écoute, aucune flexibilité, zéro inclusion.

Le responsable s’est déplacé, mais sans un bonjour, sans aucune forme. Il a lancé un cinglant « Alors, c’est qui qui ne mange rien ? » : une phrase brutale, inappropriée, et franchement irrespectueuse.

Les plats arrivent : mon poisson était trop cuit, manifestement réchauffé au micro-ondes. Et les frites, seules choses que ma sœur pouvait manger, étaient froides. On nous a changé l’assiette, mais sans plus. L’ambiance était pesante, on a clairement senti qu’on était perçues comme des clientes « compliquées », alors qu’on cherchait juste à faire comprendre un besoin de santé.

Le service a été bâclé : on ne nous sert même pas nos verres de vin, on nous expédie littéralement. Aucune attention, aucune chaleur, aucune reconnaissance du fait qu’on était là pour passer un bon moment.

Le seul point « moins négatif » : un changement de serveur en cours de service, un peu plus poli que les autres, mais qui n’a pas suffi à rattraper la soirée.

Good food but way overpriced. They also charge 1 euro for sauce when you order steak but they don't mention it before anywhere. Paid 16.9 euros for entrecote frites.. unfortunately... Seen cheaper and better in Paris.. this is orthez, they need to be realistic with prices. The waitresses could also be much friendlier since they are openly robbing you as they were...
