Chez Jacky — Restaurant in Quimper

Everything and beyond you would expect from a seafood restaurant. Lovely decoration, calming ambiance and breathtaking views of the estery.

The restaurant have their own oyster nets so the food is as fresh as it gets. The food is cooked really well. Really interesting combination of flavours. For example, the cod we ordered came with vanilla sauce which I thought was a rather exotic choice. Not to mention every plate that comes out looks like a painting.

We were surprised by how affordable the food is. You can get a set menu with a starter, main and pudding for only 30€. The servants were very nice and helpful, especially for French standards of service.

The only slightly odd rule is that you are not allowed to have hot food on the terrace. The terrace is reserved for cold platters only.

Chez Jacky is a wonderful memory of childhood, that I've been very happy to relive a couple of times in the last week. Despite being a 3 hour round trip from Carnac where we're staying it was a highlight of the holiday both times. We sat upstairs both times gazing down the river to the ocean beyond, it could have been bucolic, but for the cracking of crab legs, lobsters, langoustines, etc. Go for the plateau de fruits de Mer Royale. It'll be a lifelong memory and you definitely won't be able to finish it. Chez Jacky is incredibly reasonably priced. On our second visit a plate of langoustines for 24 Eur had about 30 of the delicious chaps on there. In London you'd get about 5. Wow! The best seafood experience I have ever had! We got the platter, which gave us the opportunity to taste everything. No regrets, it was totally worth it! Also tried the lemon meringue for dessert and it was absolutely delicious.

We were sincerely treated very well at Chez Jacky’s, the entire team working there was so kind. Even the way the management communicated with their team was a pleasure to see/hear.
