We decided at the last minute to have a four day holiday in Brittany and picked this hotel from the Logis web site. Its a typical old fashioned French hotel with a very good restaurant which was lucky as not many others were open in mid may.We had a well furnished comfortable room overlooking the back terrace, the only drawback was that it was on the second floor with no lift.||We ate in the restaurant on 3 night and everything we had was excellent, particularly the fish and shellfish.We were given both appetisers and amuse bouche at no cost.Service was great by cheerful staff and the front desk was very helpful. ||An added bonus before we left Douarmenez was a visit to the local market on our deparure morning when we were able to load our car fridge with live lobsters, langoustines, oysters and a large turbot for half the price we would have paid in the U.K. ||I thoroughly...

We were given a chit to an affiliated restaurant on the harbour called Quay 29 which was not at all what we wanted - a tapas-style place. I'm sure it was fine but we had been expecting three evenings of traditional French food. So the following evening we ate at a local creperie which was excellent and then - finally - at the hotel restaurant on our final night. Food was excellent and just what we'd hoped so do check! Apart from that, the hotel is comfortable (although the usual French small double bed) and nicely done. Not a lot to Douarnenez but plenty to see in the surrounding countryside and I enjoyed the ordinary vibe of a...
