New place in the middle of the Vallee de Chevreuse. The food was perfect, no point discussing that. The owners are trying hard to please the guests which was a good point. A few things however could be somehow perfected. Do not take this as a criticism, but as a few friendly hints:
The concept of a kitchen directly opened to the dining room, while a good idea on paper, is not so good in reality: way to much noise from the kitchen fans and heaters enters the dining room. Same witht the kitchen odors seeping around your nose. This deeply disturbed what was our othewise excellent dinner. The light fixtures: way too many of them, they emit a whitish light which would be in the right place in an airport lounge. My advice would be to get rid of half of them and replace the remaining ones with warmer light appliances. And then the noise from the other guests conversations : there is too much reverberation, but nothing that a few well placed screens...
Read moreRude, racist, ableist and possibly misogynistic (?) service from a quite aggressive young woman at the bar: after we three women (three foreigners but all French-speaking, one brown-skinned, one visually disabled, one in fragile physical condition due to cancer—easily identified by the chemo cap and walking cane) had waited for the woman to get a break so we could order at the bar, she told us to wait so she could wash up some glasses—which turned out to be a whole tray of dishes, didn’t look at us, didn’t apologize for the wait…and then when two men came to the other end of the bar she stopped what she was doing to take their orders. How else to interpret this uncivilized behavior? Won’t go back and won’t recommend this place despite the very nice cake. The setting was nice but the nasty young...
Read moreMerveilleux!
