I have no clue how it got its star... ok food = yes good, but most other things on the night were odd. They closed the reservation on the Fork and so I emailed and then they said that they were open.
No greetings when you enter - because no one was there. Overall experience 3.4 / 10
No music - set an odd environment when only three tables were set for the whole time we were there. So it made our table feel to loud or to quiet easily 🤔
We can't here you see your expression, muffle your voice - the mask make it difficult
Menue - print off an English version so we can follow along- when you drop off the plate and explain the dish again in French that means nothing to me. -- - its like describing the word with the word and you don't know the word - effort goes a long ways
**Had a difficult time with plating - not everyone was served at once - felt odd to eat
*Other tables got plates for individuals for the sharable desert course, we did not - we watch, we notice, we expected the same - understaffed ? Unaware? We were underwhelmed.
Champagne was good - nice recommendation
Dinner was good - not great - steak was tough - I did not care for the avocado and meringue (but I was the only one at the table who didnt so im in the wrong) - everything else was fine. (Ish) food 7.2/10
** it felt like it was a bare bones production - would have been better off to close if you were going to close - service 3.2/10
Not my first fine dinning experience, won't be my last, just using the power of the almighty Google to share my experience... and help for the future. If i could go back in time and give myself a recommendation - i would tell myself dont go - we were supper disappointed and didnt get the M star experience 2.8/10 for that type and level of restaurant- if you do go, I hope you have a better experience! I always want the place...
Read moreFrom the moment we stepped into Le Grand Cerf, we knew we were in for something special — and the experience exceeded every expectation. We opted for the degustation menu, which took us on a breathtaking culinary journey filled with imagination, precision, and unforgettable flavour. Each course was like a work of art, beautifully presented and thoughtfully crafted.
I tried venison for the first time — and it was a revelation. Cooked to perfection, tender and rich, it was a standout among a menu of already exceptional dishes.
A very special mention must go to our waiter Antonio, who elevated the entire experience. His knowledge, warmth, and impeccable service made us feel truly cared for, adding a personal touch that stayed with us long after the meal ended.
The setting itself is serene and elegant, with views that complement the beauty on the plate.
Le Grand Cerf isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. One I’ll treasure and recommend to anyone seeking fine dining at its...
Read moreThe restaurant is not too far from Reims (15km), inside is nice the round table are set in from of a garden. You have eventually a private room if necessary. You are in the champagne area, wait for the champagne wine list, there is an amazing choice. From the entrance, you pass in front of some champagne (brut, extra brut, blanc de blanc, ...). The journey started with some appetisers from the house (tomato carpaccio and crab with celery mousse). I continue slowly drinking a champagne Pinot-Chevauchet (extra brut) with a foie gras roti with fresh green peas, the main dish was a piece of beef perfectly cooked with carotte, artichoke, chou, celery,... I finished with a pre-order apple tarte with a bergamotte ice cream. All tastes were perfect, it is a great restaurant with 1 star Michelin. Of course you must booked...
